What is the New Birth?

How do sinful people who are unable to save themselves get rescued? Because they are “dead in their sins” (Eph. 2:1), they must receive the new birth (John 3:3). The new birth is God the Holy Spirit making you alive spiritually. When the Holy Spirit does this you are able to repent from your sin and believe in Jesus Christ for salvation. The new birth is having your sin washed away and being made new on the inside (Titus 3:5).

If we are going to be saved we must receive the new birth
Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3)
The new birth is having your sin washed away and being made new on the inside
He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5)
